Te hanga o tā mātou taunaki i tō huarahi ki te ako

Studying by distance learning doesn't mean you'll be on your own. We’ll be with you every step of the way.

If you have a question or are unsure of something, just ask. No question is too small, and nothing is a bother helping you is what we’re here to do.

Help to plan your study

If you need help to decide what to study our Student Advisors can give you personalised advice to help you plan your study. They can help you:

  • Decide which qualification best suits your study and career goals, and what course to start with
  • Plan your study load to make sure it suits how much time you have available
  • Work out if your previous tertiary study can be cross credited to one of our qualifications.

Getting started with online learning

Student Mentors

Our friendly team of Student Mentors will help make sure you have the information you need to get started with your study.

They can help you log in and find your way around our online spaces including your online course. They'll also answer any questions you may have about studying and make sure you have all the information you need to get started.

Once your course is underway our mentors will still be available when you need it for advice on things like study skills, motivation and time-management.

Kaihāpai Services Mentors

If you prefer you can choose to talk to one of our Kaihāpai Services Mentors. They are a dedicated team of Māori and Pasifika Student Mentors available to assist ākonga Māori and Pasifika learners.

Study and assessment support

As well as our mentor team, you’ll also have a Course Facilitator to guide you through the coursework. They'll be on hand to make sure you understand the course materials and assessments, and answer any questions you might have along the way.

Sometimes, if I wanted to make sure I was heading down the right track with assessments I would send queries and I would get responses back quickly.
